To keep your proxy running without interruption, the smartphone must stay charged and connected to the internet. One simple and effective way to extend battery life is to use a smart plug.
Many iProxy users leave their phones in another room, plugged in around the clock. This is not ideal — the battery repeatedly cycles between 99% and 100%, which accelerates wear. Every charge-discharge cycle gradually reduces battery capacity and, over time, can permanently damage it. Battery degradation is most severe when charging between 80% and 100%.
Here are a few tips to extend your smartphone’s battery life:
- The optimal charging temperature is between +10 °C and +40 °C, so keep the phone away from cold windows or direct heat sources.
- Avoid fully discharging the battery to 0%, as this will also interrupt your proxy connection.
- Use the original charger that came in the box. If it develops a fault, replace it with one that matches the same output current and voltage values printed on the original charger casing.
- Keep the battery charge level between 30% and 80%. Stopping the charge at around 80–85% will significantly extend battery lifespan.
To automate that last step, you can use a “smart plug”.
How to Set Up a Smart Plug
- Download the free Smart Life app for iOS or Android and sign in with your account, or register by entering your email address and the verification code sent to your inbox.

- Enable Bluetooth and connect to your home Wi-Fi network on the phone where Smart Life is installed.
- Plug the smart plug into a wall outlet. The indicator light will blink blue rapidly (twice per second).
- In the Smart Life app, tap Add under Detected Devices. During the process the app will ask for your home Wi-Fi password to connect the smart plug to the network.

- Once the automatic search completes, the app will display the newly added device. You can rename it if needed.

Smart Plug Operating Modes
Tap the device name in the list to open its controls.

The device’s main screen has a button to turn the plug on or off.

For more granular control, open the Timer section at the bottom of the app.
In the Countdown tab you can set a countdown timer to switch the plug off after a fixed duration.

In the Schedule tab you can define on/off times for specific days of the week.

In the Circulate tab you can configure a repeating cycle of charging and rest periods.

In the Random tab you can set individual on/off windows per day of the week.

The Inching mode puts the plug into automatic mode: every time the plug is switched on, it turns itself off after the specified run time.

A smart plug is ideal for managing phone charging and maintaining a healthy battery reserve. For example, to keep an Alcatel 1 5033d between 40% and 80% charge, you can configure an infinite cycle of 1.5 hours charging followed by 4.5 hours off using the Circulate mode. Exact timing will vary depending on the phone model, battery capacity, and the load placed by your proxy connection.
