Keeping your smartphone charged and connected to the internet is essential for uninterrupted mobile proxy operation. One simple and effective way to extend battery lifespan is to use a smart plug.
In many setups, users keep their phones in a separate room, permanently plugged into a charger. This is not ideal for battery health — the battery continuously cycles between 99% and 100%, which accelerates degradation.
Every charge/discharge cycle gradually reduces battery capacity and eventually leads to battery failure. The fastest degradation occurs when charging between 80% and 100%.
Tips for extending smartphone battery life:
- The optimal charging temperature is between +10°C and +40°C — avoid placing the phone on a cold windowsill.
- Never let the battery fully discharge to 0%; at that point the proxy will also stop working.
- Use the original charger. If it fails, replace it with one that matches the original output current and voltage (printed on the charger body).
- Keep the battery in the 30–80% charge range. Stopping the charge at 80–85% significantly extends battery lifespan.
To automate that last point, you can use a smart plug.
How to Set Up a Smart Plug:
- Download the free Smart Life app for iOS or Android and sign in if you already have an account, or register with your email address and the code sent to your inbox.

-
Enable Bluetooth and connect to your home Wi-Fi network on the phone where Smart Life is installed.
-
Plug the smart plug into a wall outlet. The indicator will blink blue rapidly (twice per second).
-
In Smart Life, tap Add under Device Discovery. During the process, the app will ask for your Wi-Fi password to connect the smart plug to the network.

- Once the automatic search completes, the smart plug appears in the app as a paired device. You can rename it if needed.

Smart Plug Operating Modes
Tap the device name in the list to access its control settings.

The main device screen has a button to toggle the plug on and off.

For more granular control, open the Timer section at the bottom of the app.
In the Countdown section you can set a countdown timer to automatically turn the plug off.

The Schedule section lets you set on/off schedules by day of the week and time of day.

In the Circulate section you can configure repeating cycles of charging and rest periods.

The Random section allows you to set individual operating windows by day and time.

The Inching mode puts the plug into automatic operation: every time the plug is switched on, it turns off again after a defined period.

A smart plug is an excellent solution for keeping proxy phones charged while preserving battery health. For example, to maintain a 40–80% charge level on an Alcatel 1 5033d, you can set an infinite cycle using the Circulate option: 1.5 hours charging followed by 4.5 hours without charging. The exact timing will vary depending on the phone model, battery capacity, and proxy load.
