Owner mode will greatly simplify your work with mobile proxies.
Owner mode on an Android phone refers to a setting where the iProxy app has full administrative control over the phone. This is especially important in the context of managing and configuring the phone's settings. It is also convenient for professional work with mobile proxies.
Owner mode can be a great alternative to the complex process of rooting, allowing remote management of the phone: switching to airplane mode to change the IP, restarting the phone, and using features available for Android phones with root access. A list of these features can be found in the Personal Account by clicking on the connection name - under the Advanced (settings) tab. For example, you can remotely turn the proxy on or off when needed.
To set up owner mode, you will need a laptop, the adb program installed and a phone with factory settings, and a cable.
I. Install adb on the laptop (it’s easy and safe):
Windows: https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip
Linux: https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-linux.zip
MacOS: https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-darwin.zip
II. For Windows:
On the C:// drive, create a folder named "adb" and move all the extracted files there.
For MAC:
Download platform-tools-latest-darwin.zip, extract the archive, and go to the folder with the files.
~/Downloads/platform-tools-latest-darwin.zip
I. Owner mode can be set up on a new phone or a phone that has been fully reset to factory settings. The process of resetting the phone depends on the model. For example, for Samsung: "Settings" → "General management" → "Reset" or "Backup and reset" → "Factory data reset" → "Reset".
On such a phone, there should be NO authorization in the Google account or in stores owned by phone brands, such as Samsung Account. Therefore, when setting up the phone, skip all system prompts to sign in, install anything additional, transfer data from an old device, or track your location. Choose the options "Skip" or "Later."
II. Install the iProxy app via the direct link, without signing in to Google Play or any other stores. Alternatively, contact support to request the latest APK file.
I. Connect the phone to the laptop. Allow the laptop to access the files on the phone.
II. Enable Developer Options on the phone and activate USB Debugging. Confirm the setting and allow the computer to perform further actions.
III. Open the terminal on the laptop:
For Windows:
Right-click in the C://adb folder - Open in Terminal.
For Mac:
Open the terminal as shown in the screenshot, then run the following commands:
cd ~/Downloads/platform-tools/
./adb
IV. Enter the following command in the terminal:
For Windows:
.\adb.exe shell dpm set-device-owner com.iproxy.android/.service.IproxyDeviceOwnerReceiver
For Mac:
./adb shell dpm set-device-owner com.iproxy.android/.service.IproxyDeviceOwnerReceiver
A successful installation will show the following system response:
Success: Device owner set to package com.iproxy.android/.service.IproxyDeviceOwnerReceiver
If you see the error
adb.exe: no device/emulators found
it means you missed the "USB Debugging" setup.
V. Go to the phone's Settings: Security & Privacy / Additional Settings / Device Administrator Apps. iProxy should be selected, with no option to uncheck it on the phone.
Done! In your personal account on the website, in the Pro section, click the "Restart Phone" button and make sure everything is working.
You can set up a scheduled reboot for a specific phone. Click on the connection name - Advanced - Configurations - Enable scheduled reboot.
Take a look at the screenshot below: it means every day at 10 am, based on the phone's time zone (device system time), the phone will be rebooted automatically.
Alternatively, you can log into your personal area and select several connections: Mass actions - Set up device reboot interval:
