Open the iProxy app. If there is a blue Change IP button in the app, the digital assistant is set up and the IP will be changed remotely. Click this button and you will see your phone enter and exit airplane mode, and the IP address will change.

On some models like **Xiaomi** and **Huawei**, the blue button may reset after the phone is restarted. To reset the digital assistant, switch to Google and then return to the iProxy assistant:

- in the iProxy app, click on the three dots in the top right corner
- click Change IP w/o ROOT - Open Voice Assistant settings
- (if iProxy is already selected as the assistant, switch to Google, and then select iProxy again)

### Working with Android in Owner mode

Owner mode allows the phone owner to have full control over the device and set many functions, such as remote IP change using the iProxy app.
This mode can be set up on phones with <u>factory settings</u> (new phones) that have <u>no Google accounts linked</u>.

### MacroDroid App

If the digital assistant is not available on the phone and the owner mode is not suitable, download and test the IP address change setting using the <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arlosoft.macrodroid&hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">MacroDroid</a> app.
This app allows you to write macros (commands) that the phone can perform automatically.
Essentially, Macrodroid is used as a "Clicker" on the smartphone screen.

Open the app. Click on <Add Macro> - <Actions> and list the following commands in order:

- turn on the screen
- 2-second delay
- press Turn On Airplane Mode
- 2-second delay
- press Turn Off Airplane Mode
- 2-second delay
- turn off the screen

### Android with ROOT rights (rooted phones)

On rooted phones, you need to grant Superuser rights to the iProxy app to switch airplane mode remotely.

Not every phone can be rooted. Each phone model and each OS version must have special drivers (firmware) created. For most Android devices, such firmware does not exist, so you need to be very careful if you decide to root your phone. We do not recommend this method for users without rooting experience.

The iProxy team wrote its firmware for the Alcatel 5033d Android 8.0.1 model. You can watch the video tutorial at this <a href="https://youtu.be/rU3Yg3792HM?si=AgXmVuegZkwuBslH" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">link</a>.

## How to change the IP address remotely

There are several ways to change the IP address remotely without opening the iProxy app on your phone:
- URL for IP change
- automatic rotation
- from the personal account
- with a command in the Telegram bot

## URL for IP change by link

In the personal account on the <a href="https://iproxy.online/app" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">iProxy.online</a> website, click on the connection name. In the opened window, select the IP Change menu and copy the URL.
This link can be used in any software you work with, for example, in the Dolphin antidetect browser.

## What determines the speed through a proxy
- First of all, the speed through the proxy depends on the Internet speed of the Android device itself. If the phone’s speed is, for example, 3 Mbit, then getting 4 Mbit or 20 Mbit on the BigDaddy plan through the proxy is just impossible.
- The proxy speed depends on both the incoming and outgoing speed of the Android device. The incoming speed affects the download speed of the websites you visit, and the outgoing speed affects the speed at which data is sent from the phone to the iProxy server. The proxy speed can’t exceed neither the outgoing nor the incoming speed of the Android device.
- Тheoretically, the speed through the proxy can be up to 2 times lower than the device’s minimum incoming or outgoing speed. This is due to the fact that the phone is loading websites and immediately sending data to the iProxy server. Practice shows that usually you’re forced to sacrifice 10-20% of the incoming or outgoing speed. We’re working on a solution that’ll lower that number as much as possible - stay tuned for updates on our <a href="https://t.me/iproxynews_en" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">Telegram channel</a>.

## Your next steps
- Check your Android device’s incoming and outgoing speed.
- If the device’s speed is 10+ Mbit, while the proxy speed can’t get over 5 Mbit on the Baby plan, then you should switch to a different plan. You can do that in the <a href="https://iproxy.online/faq/tariffs-and-payment#165" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">connection settings</a>.

## How do I increase the speed on the phone itself?
- Change your mobile operator. Choose one that provides the best connection in the place where your Android device is.
- Move your phone to a different location.
- Get a new phone. The more expensive the phone, the better the connection. For example, an iPhone 11 Pro and an Alcatel 1 5033d in the same location and with the same mobile operator can give out 50 and 7 Mbit respectfully.

## You should be aware that
- There is a theory that the numbers mobile operators show during speed tests don’t correspond to reality. Sounds like a great marketing ploy. This may be another explanation of why during your speed tests you see a speed that clearly doesn’t match the time it takes websites to load through the proxy.
- When picking out a mobile operator for a proxy, choose one that assigns the device a new IP address when it exits Airplane mode. For example, In Russia, Sberbank Mobile, Rostelecom or Tinkov don’t always do that. Ative in Kazakhstan and A1 in Belarus also don’t assign new IP addresses.
- If you launch lots of mobile proxies from one location, best to choose multiple mobile operators. Each mobile operator has their own subnet, their own pool of IP addresses. This way your proxies will have access to a larger pool of IP addresses.

## General recommendations
- CPU: ARM Cortex-A53 is not recommended. Better to choose devices with 2Gb+ RAM.
- If you’re planning on buying a special phone to work with iProxy.online, DON’T pick Meizu since these models require you to perform extra steps when turning off energy-saving mode.
-  Practice shows that for Huawei and Honor models, you’ll likely have to toggle off energy-saving mode and enable Auto-starts/Auto-launches. Fiddle around with the settings and turn off anything that may potentially prevent iProxy and OpenVPN from running in the background. Here’s an example of how to disable power saving modes for Xiaomi models (without needing to mess around with too many settings):  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0gTYDDcuHo" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">Youtube video guide</a>.
- Huawei and Honor models are one of the most difficult to root. If you’re buying a new phone specifically for working with iProxy - choose phones we listed at the article’s beginning with rooting instructions. We recommend Alcatel 1 5033d Android 8.1.0 (one of the cheapest rootable phones. You can find a used model for around 1-2 thousand rub.), Lenovo Vibe k5 plus, Ulefone s10 pro, Oukitel с12 pro, etc.
- XiaoMi phones performed well enough, but there’s certain models that don’t work properly with proxies. If you ALREADY have a XiaoMi, install the app and test it out to see whether it works for you. If you’re still just planning to purchase a phone for working with proxies, don’t choose XiaoMi, since there are other phone brands that are much more likely to work properly with mobile proxies.

## Ways to change your IP address using iProxy.online

Almost every user faces the need to change their IP address. We at iProxy.online have prepared several ways to do just that: automatically after a specified period of time, by clicking a button in your personal account, by clicking on a link, through a command in a <a href="https://t.me/iproxy_online_bot" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">Telegram bot</a>, via API.

**Please note that in order to change the IP address by turning on/off airplane mode, the phone MUST have access to MOBILE INTERNET (not Wi-Fi).**

## How can I change my IP address?

You change your IP address by toggling Airplane mode on your phone.

1. You can toggle Airplane mode manually (pick up the phone to turn Airplane mode on/off)
2. You can toggle Airplane mode remotely.

On root and non-root devices, setting up remote Airplane mode toggling can be done in different ways:

- for non-root devices, through the Macrodroid app
- for root devices, the iProxy app can toggle Airplane mode on its own 

**Please note that in order to change the IP address by turning on/off airplane mode, the phone MUST have access to MOBILE INTERNET (not Wi-Fi).**

> There are extremely rare cases when the IP does not change after toggling Airplane mode. If you come across such a situation, the following explanations are possible: 1) your mobile operator has an extremely small pool of ip-addresses (find a new mobile operator) 2) your mobile operator issued you an IP address you already had (the the UNIQUE IP function that’s available on the BigDaddy Pro plan).

### 1. Changing your IP address manually

Go to your phone’s web browser or any website that checks your current IP address. Next, toggle Airplane mode on and off. Refresh the page you checked your IP address on. Make sure you got a new IP address. Video guide:

**Choose which IP changing method suits you best: someone can do it with the help of Voise Assistant, MacroDroid or manually, while others need a rooted phone.**

We recommend, if possible, to work from a Rooted Android device, since such phones allow for maximum automation and comfort of use.

**Root-rights** are Superuser rights that give iProxy the ability to access Settings and toggle Airplane mode.

By default, Superuser rights are not available on factory firmware (operating systems).

4. If you already have an Android phone, show it to a specialist that knows how to root. We don’t recommend setting up root-rights on your own because this process may take a lot of time (and there’s no guarantee you’ll even perform it successfully). It’s better to pay someone else to do it and focus on your main job, don’t dabble with an activity you don’t specialize in. You can find rooting specialists on your city’s markets.

6. # Terms

**External IP-address** - IP-address of the mobile phone, which End user is connected to via proxy access points or .ovpn config.

**Proxy access points** - ip/port/login/password used to connect to the proxy.

**Config .OVPN** - file with type .ovpn to run through the programs that support this file type.

## What is .OVPN config? What's the difference from usual proxy access points?

Please note that this feature is available only on the **BigDaddy Pro** plan.
.OVPN config is a file which is possible to create for each connection on the iProxy.online dashboard.

## The difference between .OVPN connection and usual proxy access points (TCP)

### TCP

TCP is a usual way of connection to the proxy using  ip/port/login/password. It is necessary to add  ip/port/login/password of the proxy in each program in oder to use **external IP-address** in it.

### .OVPN

The whole traffic of the computer goes through the proxy while connecting via **.OVPN config**, thus **proxy access points are not used**, it's not necessary to insert them to the programs. 

## What are the advantages of .OVPN over TCP?

- Different ways of connection to the proxy. It is not necessary to insert proxy credentials.
- The whole traffic of the computer goes through the external IP of the phone, this means that all programs running on the computer will work through the external IP address, even those that do not have the ability to specify proxy credentials.
- Another and more modern way to transfer data. When working through .OVPN, configs successfully pass UDP, HTTP/3, QUIQ tests.
- It is possible to connect via the cofig not only from a computer, but also from phones (Android, iOS) or routers.

What is Wi-Fi Split? How does it help to increase the speed and reduce traffic consumption?

# Terms

**End user** - the user who connects to the proxy (uses the proxy or <a href="https://iproxy.online/blog/all-about-ovpn-config-udp-http3-quiq" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">.OVPN config</a>)

**Wi-Fi split** - an option in Android application iProxy, which allows to reduce traffic consumption by 2 times and can improve proxy speed.

**iProxy Relay Server** - intermediate server between the end user and Android-phone. The end user connects to the iProxy Relay Server, which, in its turn, connects to the traffic of Android-phone.

## How iProxy works

Websites are visited by the phone using the Mobile Internet, then content from the phone is sent to the iProxy Relay Server. The download speed of the Mobile Internet is responsible for the speed of loading the sites. The upload speed is responsible for the speed of sending data to the iProxy Server.

## How iProxy works without Wi-Fi Split

Traffic from the phone is sent by the Outgoing traffic of the Mobile Internet without Wi-Fi Split. If the download speed of the mobile internet is 20 Mbps and the upload speed is 3 Mbps, then websites are loading with the speed 20 Mbps, but the traffic is sending to the iProxy Relay Server with the speed 3 Mbps. Therefore, through the proxy, the Download and Upload speed will not be faster than 3 Mbps.
That is, the speed of the proxy is limited by the **minimum speed** of the Download and Upload speed of the mobile Internet.

## Double traffic consumption

As you can see from the principle of operation, the phone downloads sites at first(normal traffic consumption), then the traffic is sent to the Server (double traffic consumption is obtained). Thus, the traffic consumption is doubled from the usual amount if Wi-Fi Split is turned off.

## Observation from the practice with Wi-Fi Split disabled

There is a simultaneous load on the mobile operator without Wi-Fi Split even with a good Upload speed because the Download speed loads the sites and the Upload speed sends data to the server. Due to the simultaneous load, the speed of Download and Upload gets less, and, as a result, the speed through the proxy can be 10-20% less than on the phone.

##  How iProxy works with Wi-Fi Split enabled

The traffic from the phone is sent to the iProxy Relay Server with Wi-Fi Split option enabled via the home Wi-Fi, which is fast and unlimited all over the world.

## 2x data saving with Wi-Fi Split enabled

Due to the fact that the traffic is sent via Wi-Fi, and not via the mobile Internet, the SIM card retains the usual traffic consumption. Thus, there is no double consumption of the traffic. 

## Increase in the speed with Wi-Fi Split enabled

Wi-Fi Split noticeably improves the speed in cases where Upload mobile Internet speed is lower than Download.
Also, Wi-Fi Split improves the speed in cases where the Upload is approximately equal to the Download speed of the mobile Internet, since there is no simultaneous load on the mobile Internet. In cases where the Download speed of the mobile Internet is low, for example 1-2 Mbps, the speed also improves with Wi-Fi split enables, but in this example it will not be faster than 1-2 Mbps.

## Observation from the practice 

There IP-address of your Wi-Fi will never appear through the proxy. It is technically stated that when the Wi-Fi Split option is enabled, Wi-Fi traffic cannot be used to download sites. You can safely turn on Wi-Fi Split and be sure that traffic is transmitted reliably throughout the entire path. Thousands of iProxy users around the world have enabled Wi-Fi Split and successfully use it every day.
It is highly recommended to enable **Wi-Fi Split option**.

## How to set up Wi-Fi Split option? 
- Open "Settings" - "About phone” - click several times on “Build number" till "Developer options" opens.
- Open “Developer options” and enable the function “Mobile data always on". It may be called differently on the different models of Androin. Another name might be “Keep mobile network on when Wi-Fi is on”
- Switch the tariff to the  BigDaddy Pro on your iProxy.online dashboard
- Enable Wi-Fi on the phone
- Enable Wi-Fi Split option in iProxy app on Android
- The feature is set up. Connect to the proxy and check the speed.

How to choose the right location of the iProxy.online server   

How to choose the right location of the server? 

Regardless of the selected server, location of the proxy will be the same as location of the phone using with iProxy.online 

For example, the phone is located in Brazil, so Brazilian mobile proxies will be created. If the phone is located in Poland -  Polish mobile proxies will be created, etc.

The server should be chosen in such a way that the distance traffic goes from the phone to the iProxy server and from the server to the end proxy user is minimal. You can read more about the traffic path in our <a href="https://iproxy.online/blog/traffic-path-from-android-to-program-with-proxy" target="_blank" rel="noopener referrer">article</a>.

# The ping of the proxy

The greater the physical distance, the greater the proxy ping will be. Ping is the time during which the server receives information from another device, in other words, it is the waiting time required to open the web page of the site.
If the phone and the proxy user are located in the same city, then you should select the server closest to this city. For example, a resident of Berlin should choose a server in Falkenstein.

There are lots of situations for proxy sellers when the phone is in one city and the end user is in another. In this case at least one of the path sections should be minimized.

## Examples 

For example, the phone is located in Kazakhstan, and the proxy will be used in Germany,  the server in Kazakhstan or Germany could be choosen. The ping result will be the same, since the traffic will go the same distance:
Phone is in Karaganda (within a radius of up to 500 km) - server is in Karaganda (within a radius of up to 50 km) - Client is in Frankfurt (4475 km from Karaganda). Total distance gone by traffic: 500 + 50 + 4475 = 5025 km
Phone is in Karaganda (within a radius of up to 500 km) - server is in Frankfurt (4475 km from Karaganda) - Client is in Frankfurt (within a radius of up to 50 km). Total distance gone by traffic: 500 + 4475 + 50 = 5025 km

2) Ask a friend who is currently in the target country to install our application and make you a proxy.

**Passive OS Fingerprint** (TCP / IP Fingerprint, OS fingerprint, pOf) - a set of TCP/IP traffic parameters indirectly determining the user's operating system as well as the communication channel through which the internet connection is established. For a regular site user, the operating system of the computer and the Passive OS Fingerprint are usually the same.

The OS fingerprint you obtain by using the iProxy service is Linux Android. Despite the mismatch in fingerprints, services accept such mobile proxies, and some work better than usual, adding more trust.

## How does it work?

When a user connects to the Internet, the websites they access can request information through the browser about the device the visit was made from. The site can see the user's IP address, device operating system version, pOf, browser name and version, processor and GPU model, screen resolution, current battery level for laptops, tablets or phones, etc.
 
In order to make websites trust an online marketer working with multiple account more and establish the correspondence between their operating system and Passive OS Fingerprint, the iProxy team added a feature that lets you replace the service’s standard OS fingerprint.

- Mac OS
- Win 78
- Win 10
- Nintendo
- FreeBSD
- FreeBSD 9

## How to set up and replace pOf?

In the iProxy app, you need to install the Fingerprint feature, then select the fingerprint you want in your personal account. This feature works on BigDaddy Pro plan.

Please note that when using the fingerprint substitution feature, the selected Useragent in the anti-detect browser must match the fingerprint.
